About Me....do you really want to know?....Of course you do!
What you'll find in The Romantic Mom.com

Hello!

Well, I've finally done it...launched myself into the wonderful world of the web!! I've just got too much inside ready to bubble over and my hubby's sick of listening to me! I have to admit that the whole web/blog thing makes me a little nervous. How much of this is actually talking to other people or just me talking to myself?  Not that this is so unusual--I just hadn't thought I'd advertise the fact. I guess if millions of people are out there talking to themselves then nobody will notice when I do it, right?

This is me with my little fan club. They adore me! Really! And I adore them! It's a mutual fan club! And we adore Daddy too, but we don't see him (or me) much in front of the camera--the lens just seems to constantly gravitate to our kiddos with a force of its own. We are all inseparable and we love it that way!

They also try to keep me in line and set me straight in all the areas where I'm seriously slippin' up! But this rarely, essentially never happens, of course. Or they just politely look the other way and don't comment because they're very protective of their mother's very fragile emotional state and delicate feelings. They're great! I kid you not...they are truly, truly the best-est most perfect children a mother could hope for!

But enough bragging about my offspring. Let me do some braggin' on God,  my most awesome Father in heaven and His precious Son, Jesus Christ, who did it ALL for this train-wreck on legs that should never have been entrusted with a brain, much less all the other incredible things He's blessed me with.
Although I do have some convictions in these areas, I'm not a preachy-type, so if anyone's interested in my journey back to the Christian faith in my later years, please check Daily Bread

My theme (as you can see) is the "Romantic Mom" which applies to enjoying the simple pleasures in life and just taking things day by day, moment by moment. I focus on the family and marriage, homeschooling, homesteading, creativity, and living out the Christian walk with steadfastness, perseverance, and HOPE. I started a book on this topic, but that won't be out for awhile, so why not start where I can now! These various endeavors can simply compliment one another and hopefully offer some inspiration and encouragement along the way....

I've been married now for almost 10 years and my husband, Andrew, and I have 4 wonderful children. My dear hubby is a watchmaker and also has a site. We moved to Maine from the Dallas metro 3 years ago for a radical lifestyle change--which is what we got! We have 40 acres and are in the very, very, really (did I say very?) slow process of building our own log home. We have 3 bunnies and a pony named Babycakes. I could go on and on, but you can learn more about our adventures as a family starting over in Maine under the different topics.  I'll eventually write something to get it more consolidated, but that's a future project!

As for entering the high-tech world, I still need some radical help. My wish list includes:

1.  A scanner (yes, I don't even have a scanner--unbelievable),
2.  PDF software,
3.  A digital camera upgrade (I use the basic $130 model we bought at Wal-Mart last year),
4.  Video software (so I can share the before and after of our beach house in FL!)

I do have Photoshop 6.0 which is a blast, but I just got brave enough to open it up again last week (my first encounter sent me into convulsions and I never touched it again for over a year!). So only a few of my photos have been doctored up yet--but they will be! I'm quickly becoming a Photoshop junkie! Obviously, if I can do this, ANYBODY can.

Please feel free to share with me. Period. I should say, you MUST share with me. Is it OK to beg on these web sites? Good. Please, please, please write to me and let me know what you're thinkin', what you're doin', how, why, and when you're doin' what you're doin'. I'd really love to hear from ya!  Contact Me

Blessings! Debbie

P.S. I know I need some close-ups, but I just don't HAVE any...!! I'll try to get one soon!
