Bring it On 12/21/2009

And yes! We do have snow! Looks like it'll be a white Christmas for us after all....and it's continued to snow from flurries to storms for the past couple of weeks. I say, "Bring it on!" I love the quintessential full-out nostalgic New England Christmas...and that has to include the white snowy version!

Our son, Andrew, has now added tunnels to his road network around the yard...

He doesn't seem to mind all the shoveling so much. I suppose it's all a matter of perspective, huh! ; )

Road Building Engineer Andrew!! We salute you!! First, for your roads all over everywhere ( how many tons of the white stuff have you shoveled the past couple of years?!!) but also for the bridge building expertise you've now displayed! Does your remote control car do very well without snow tires? Sounds as if you're going to have a picture perfect Christmas. You don't really remember anything different--you just don't know how UNchristmas-y it can look, other places than New England! Mom, your new photos, when your blog comes up are delightful. Who would have thought of adding patterned sox to the mix??

We're far too tied to Far North Dallas suburbia for my taste, and to tastes that tend to the bland and superficial, but at least we've exposed the kids to enough media of substance that they prefer The Sound of Music, and Singin' in the Rain, and A Little Princess, and Annie, to the modern drivel. (To be fair, I should grant that A Little Princess came out in '93.)
