A Surprise 11/06/2009

My morning this morning dawned a snowy wonderland surprise. I took these photos a little before 6...just look at it! All crisp, lavender and white! Just  as I was wondering in my post yesterday if the end of November would look like this.  I didn't even have to wait till the end of November...try the first week in November instead!

It's now mid-morning and the sun has brilliantly broken through. I do believe all our white wonderland will be soon melting away...but not before I captured lots of beautiful images. I do believe my pansies will muster through the melt and bloom for us a little longer. I'm definitely going to savor this season! : D

I guess it's too late to wish you a bit of Indian Summer, so I wish you a few more lovely fall days. I must say, though, that your first snowfall of the season is beautiful and beautifully captured. There's nothing like a coating fresh snow to transform the landscape.

Snow's going fast...we're getting some beautiful sunny days now. And we'll certainly take 'em! Still lots to do around here. Lynn, we're all really loving your famous chocolate chip cookie recipe...I think I might even try the batter with diced apples from our buckets of apples we have at the moment. Then I can cheat and have them for breakfast, too! ; )

ETHEREAL--the only way to describe the lovely dawning light of your surprise first snow. Again--gorgeous photos!!--& thanks again for sharing. Your window boxes must not have had their little covers on, with snow sitting on their brilliantly-colored heads!! I'm amazed the hard freezes you must have had hasn't nipped them. Pansies are plenty winter tough, tho.
