Karyn's Gardens 09/22/2009

It's been a few weeks ago since we were over at the Mere's but I wanted to share Karyn's lovely gardens from this summer...before notions of summer completely slip away...

Here in front she's added to the raised beds they put in last summer where strawberries, onion, garlic, peas, tomatoes, and several other veggies are coming in very nicely...

She also has added this kitchen garden...where else but right outside her kitchen door...and where she can see it from the kitchen window over the kitchen sink...how much more kitchen-y can we get?? : D

And here are the girls rapturously scooping up sweet peas...and also what few plump juicy strawberries are still left!

What a glorious way to spend a sunny afternoon...enjoying Karyn's Gardens! : D

Of course you will...even in all that TX heat! Actually, you might try a 'winter' garden down there....with a few cold frames you could do really well I think! And less bugs!! ; )

BTW: Can't believe how big yours are getting, too! It's just not right!

I wondered, "is that the garden NOW---or earlier in the summer, when you mentioned it before" Seems stuff will be frozen before it can have time to finish maturing. Unless she's the one with the greenhouse. But I guess THAT can't help the garden stuff. How I envy her tidy organized layout. Looks like a magazine. Grrr! And that row of girls--how lovely, lovely! I don't recognize the green skirt or the black with pink roses dress--on Asheley?? We aren't sure we were sorting the girls out properly from the back!

Yes...these photos were taken much earlier in the summer. Her kitchen garden is now mostly gone by now. We picked a few of the green beans that were left when we were over there again a couple of weeks ago. Oh, and yes, that's Asheley! : D
