Heather is already becoming quite the little seamstress! She's got her new sewing machine all threaded and is going strong. If she can just remember to put that presser foot down....and after enough tangles....she'll get it! The levels of concentration in the room are truly staggering to behold...

By some miracle of miracles, I somehow managed to get this little pink jobbie working today for Caitlyn. The smaller the simpler...right??? wrong. I won't even tell you how long it's been sitting on a shelf gathering dust. Looks like it's dust collecting days are over...woo hoo! Go Caitlyn!

And little Asheley wants in on the action, too....

Thanks for the birthday wishes, Carole!! And yes, the girls are lovin' the sewin'....still in a bit of practice mode right now...just trying to maintain a straight line and get the feel of how fast it goes, how to hold the fabric, etc.

I found a really cute pattern for a teapot quilt that I want to try with the girls...maybe next week some time. I'll definitely keep you posted!! : D

Heather, we are most impressed with your new sewing machine. It's a dandy looking one, isn't it? And you look like you already know how to use it. Good going!! When Grandmom was in highschool and college, she made most all her own dresses and skirts and blouses to wear. Then she made most all the clothes when our three were little. I'll bet you'll be able to do the same, probably even before you are that old.

And Caitlyn, looks like you're getting into the sewing business, too. We're proud of you all. Looks like Asheley isn't going to be left out, either, doesn't it? Grandmom and I stay impressed with all that the four of you do to help out, from cleaning up the horse pen to painting the chicken tractor (same color as I painted our picket fence) to sewing and helping Daddy put in fence. It's very good of you to help out, like that.

We love and miss you,
Granddad and Grandmom
