Sun and Ski 01/10/2009
 

We've had a couple of beautiful sunshine days...even though the temps are pretty chilly! These are our lovely birches...they're as beautiful in the winter as they are in the summer!

Vi har noen fine dager med sol ... selv om temperaturen er veldig kaldt! Disse trærne er vår herlige birches ... de er så vakkert om vinteren slik de er i sommer!

I do believe birches are my absolute favorite tree...Anne of Green Gables is correct in her assessment of birch trees...as always!

Jeg tror birches er min absolutte favoritt treet ... Anne of Green Gables er riktig i hennes vurdering av bjørk trær ... som alltid!







And the little ski bunnies have taken to the slopes! Yippee!! They've been waiting for this moment! They were bringing up snow and skis even in the summer... yep,  as if they could possibly want snow in the gorgeous summertime!!

Og den lille ski bunnies har tatt til bakkene! Yippee! De har ventet på dette øyeblikk! De ble bedt om snø og ski selv i sommer ... å ja, som om de lenge på snø i den vakre sommer!







I've decided to give up my ski pants and go to wool! I shrunk down some woolen pants that are wonderfully warm...as long as I have long-johns underneath...otherwise I can't take the itch! And we're also stocked up with some great thick wool socks. I'm sold on wool for winter! Gortex has its place...but so does wool!! : )

Jeg har besluttet å gi opp min ski bukser og gå til ull! Jeg shrunk ned noen ull bukse som er fantastisk varm ... så lenge jeg har lang Johns undersiden ... ellers kan jeg ikke ta klø! Og vi er også lager opp med noen store tykke ull sokker. Jeg er solgt på ull for vinteren! Gortex har sin plass...men ull er best! : )

And this little snow bunny didn't want to try her skis yet...but she DID want her ski boots on! Actually, I can totally understand...ski boots are as difficult to get used to as skis are...something I don't always think about!!

Og denne lille snøen bunny ikke ønsket å prøve seg skiene ennå ... men hun ønsker henne ski støvlene på! Faktisk, jeg kan helt forstår ... ski støvler er så vanskelig å bli vant til som skiene er ... noe jeg ikke alltid tenke på!

And here we go for a nice nature walk...or nature ski...

Og her er vi gå en fin natur walk ... eller natur ski ...





I love these lavender tones in the snow. The glaciers and water in Canada all have tints of turquoise...everything here in Maine has lavender in it...interesting! Have you ever noticed that..??

Jeg elsker disse lavendel toner i snøen. Breane og vann i Canada har alle nyanser av turkis ... alt her i Maine har lavendel i det ... interessant! Har du noen gang lagt merke til at ..??





I'm enjoying our sunshine...we're supposed to get more snow tomorrow. It'll be nice to watch the feathery flakes fall again...and I'll update you on my indoor projects soon! Enjoy a beautiful weekend!! : D

This pictures you show are so beatyful. And the pink dress to!! And your children are adorable!!!! I wish i had more words in my head to discribe how i like your pictures and blog and your romantic life. I like it werry much.
You asked my if i had som problems to fint american magazines, but i`m not sure, becouse there are some in the store, but i dont know about other magazines you have in usa. But i like the romantic ones werry much, with touch of shabby chic in it and things from flewmarked.... I hope you undrestand what i write now...
You write you want to talk in phone!! That sounds sooooo fun!!! But it`s expensive to call me i think, because i have only mobile tlf. But do you have skype? I almost didn't recognize Andrew, he's looking so grown up! Definite glimpses of him-as-a-teen, there....

I think my kids would love to try skiing with yours, but that would require a major roadtrip, since—as you well know—we don't get much of the white stuff here....

Hi :) Thanks for visiting my blog, comments make me very happy. Our pony is a shettis (shetland), she is very friendly and we love her. Her name is Chiqita and she will stay here at the farm even though my children soon have grown away from her. I hope you will find a nice a friendly shettis for your kids too :)
