This is what making a fabric playhouse has done to MY children, so this may not be something you want to do to yours--it's your call.

However, I've had a plethora of people begging me to tell them how they, too, CAN do this to their children, so here goes. Okay, that would be 2 people, Amy and her gorgeous photoos, and the Queen of Master-Webbery, Carole, whom I'm honored to have as my sis-in-law. (and will be sharing her incredibly ingenious gutter shelves, right Carole? Hint, hint).

Now that everybody knows everybody, pull out the No. 5 charcoal drafting pencil, sketch pad, compass, and sliderule--oh,and about a 3" notebook because you will definitely need to be taking extensive notes. This is so complicated it may even blow your mind--so you may need to wear a helmet or protective head gear as well

She is now prepared to make a fabric playhouse (her compass and slide rule are in her ballet bag).If you're not dressed like this before yackling (this was a typo, but I decided it was appropriate) the fabric playhouse, then I hereby absolve myself of any and all liability on the outcome of this project.

Ready? Set? Let's Roll!

1.  Measure the width across the space you want to suspend said playhouse

2. Sew 2 (or 3 or however many it takes to reach across your expanse) lengths of fabric together.

3. Cut out door and windows.

This window grew much larger after being hung up--I have NO idea how this happened! I used my compass and was wearing my helmet during the entire procedure.

Alright, onward and upward...

4. Take strip of double-adhesive 1' velcro and cut into 5" strips. Space strips evenly across top length of fabric--playhouse.

5. Sew rough side (or soft side if you prefer to sew soft) to fabric and then place opposing velcro neatly on top (after you've sewn it, of course!). Remove paper from sticky backs.

5. Haul playhouse to its location. As you put up the playhouse, the sticky back of the velcro will stick to the ceiling where you need it--just make sure you're putting it up in a straight line as you're doing this. It's easiest if you put the 2 ends up first and then work toward the center. Like I said, this is VERY complicated, I hope you've got your helmet on and slide rule handy!

Whew! You're DONE! You may now remove you're helmet and safety goggles--you weren't wearing safety googles (another typo I'll leave)? Well. you should've been!

Now for a peek INSIDE the playhouse...I know you've been dying to get into this thing!

O-o-oh! This is fun! Cozy yet spacious at the same time! And you can deck yours out any way you like! Our chill'ens like to sleep in their playhouse--every night!

No wonder it has this strange, inexplicable effect on children! Maybe this is where I should be sleeping!
